Post 11.11 mega sale, I've been thinking about buying an external laptop for my home office. The problem is I do have a 24 inch monitor but been trying to find a justification why I need to buy a new monitor. First, I think an external monitor with USB type C connector will be a great addition to my gadgets. I can easily connect & power up my HP laptop & Macbook without need to worry about cable management. But do I really need a new monitor at the first place?
Whenever I found myself in an excessive behaviours of spending money, this is like an alarm that I need to really think before make any new purchases. It takes me a while to notice this but whenever I'm in the great stress, online shopping is like a distraction to my work problems. I bought a lot of unnecessary things and after 1-2 weeks, I'll be giving those items to others. People are happy with this because they going to get free stuffs but but end of the month, all my salary will be used just to pay my credit card debts. So, sales is my greatest enemy.
So, what I did, delay the purchases since I can't stop thinking about it. Leveraging on my overanalyze traits, I keep doing research about the items I wish to buy until becomes overwhelmed with the info. I know this is the not the good practise for someone who used to be a victim of overthinking but at least, could save some money for now.

From normal gaming monitor to 2K, and then exploring 4K to ultrawide features, and to which brands are better: ended up, I'm yet to checkout the items from my shopping cart. Below are my shortlisted monitor for consideration:
- LG GL2780 - Best for my workflow and can connect with my PS4 as well. So, all rounder monitor for my need eventhough just a 2K resolution. But I need to wait for 12.12 sale to get better price for this monitor as I could save around MYR100 - MYR400.
- Dell P2721Q - 4K resolution and can power up my laptop/macbook with USB type C. Maybe not suitable for my PS4 but it's okay because I already have a dedicated TV panel for that. If I'm just using the monitor only for work and something could last for few years, this could be a good investment. Plus, Dell is slashing off the price this week due to Black Friday sale.
- LG 29WK600 - Maybe I need to experience ultrawide monitor. Based on the review I have gathered from Youtubers and other reviewers, if I'm not planning to use this for gaming, then it's good enough for me as it will provide bigger space for my work. But, I've issue with the stand. I can't change the height.
- BenQ EX2780Q - The only reason why I'm considering this monitor is because of the sound system. But how this will improve my experience and productivity?
Black Friday sales not really do justice to my life. Hopefully, this weekend I'll survive or make the right purchase!

Go for Dell! P2721Q. 4K is better than ultrawide.
If you care more about 4K, may I suggest Dell S2721QS? Maybe there is no USB Type C but do you really need that? Better save your money for something else maybe?
